Dolly Parton shared a message to fans on Tuesday (January 20), after celebrating her milestone 80th birthday and releasing an all-star collaboration as “a gift.”

Parton debuted the reimagined version of “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” on Friday (January 16), featuring Lainey Wilson, Miley Cyrus (her goddaughter), Queen Latifah and Reba McEntire. The legendary country star wrote the song in 1976, and released the original recording the following year. The new version also features David Foster on piano and The Christ Church Choir on background vocals, and proceeds support pediatric cancer research at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee, Parton confirmed. Parton said in a clip she shared on Instagram that the all-star “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” collaboration is her “gift” to everyone in honor of her birthday:

“Well hey there, it’s Dolly and I’ve made it! I’m 80 years old. Can you believe that? Anyway, what do you give somebody that’s 80 years old? Well, you don’t take gifts, you give things. And I’m gonna give you the gift of a bunch of friends that stopped by to help me sing on a song called ‘Light of a Clear Blue Morning,’ a song I wrote years ago. In fact, it’s 50 years old. We did a new version of it, Kent Wells produc[ed] it, and then I’m giving you the gift of Queen Latifah, Reba McEntire, Miley Cyrus and Lainey Wilson, with David Foster playing the piano. And I think it really lifts us up this day and time, and Lord knows we could use that, right? Anyway, thank you for all the birthday wishes. And I hope I live another 80 years, but I hope I still got my plastic surgeons in line. Oh Lord, I’ve outlived so many plastic surgeons. Well, happy birthday to me!”

Parton turned 80 on Monday (January 19). She shared that she received an unforgettable surprise — a birthday performance by a bagpipe player — from U2 frontman Bono and the rest of the band (and joked, “are you calling me an old bag?”). The Grand Ole Opry celebrated Parton’s 80th birthday with the annual Opry Goes Dolly show, which included Wilson, Vince Gill, Rhonda Vincent and songwriter Trannie Anderson. Parton said in a recorded message: “I just wanted to say how much it means to me that you’re all coming together again this year to celebrate my big ol’ birthday with some of my songs. Some of my favorite memories happened right here on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. And I wish I could be there in person, but I’ll be sending you all my love for sure. So, you have the best night ever.”
