To act well on a date,
focus on being confident, respectful, and present by dressing nicely, arriving on time, and keeping your phone away. Engage her with open-ended questions, offer genuine compliments, and listen actively. Key actions include planning the date, offering to pay, and ensuring she gets home safely.
Top Tips for a Successful Date:
Preparation & Appearance: Dress to impress in clean, appropriate clothing (e.g., a button-down shirt) and ensure good grooming.
Be a Gentleman: Open doors, offer her a seat, and consider bringing a small gesture like flowers.
Conversation & Behavior:
Listen more than you talk: Ask about her hobbies and goals, avoiding overly personal, political, or past relationship discussions.
Be present: Keep your phone in your pocket and maintain eye contact.
Keep it light: Be funny and positive to create a comfortable atmosphere.
Respect boundaries: Read her body language for comfort levels regarding physical contact.
After the Date: Let her know you had a great time, ensure she gets home safely, and text or call to set up a second date if you felt a connection.

14 Gay Summer Date Ideas That Won’t Have You Melting

Global warming is real. The world is on fire. And you’re just hoping to get some D before the Earth bursts into flames. (Trust me, I hear ya.) So here are some fabulously gay date ideas to keep you and your man’s buns cool in this ungodly summer heat.
1. Visit a theme park

Look for the nearest theme park and have some fun riding around on rollercoasters and other various rides. Theme parks are a great excuse for binge eating and relaxing, so sit back and enjoy!
2. Go to a bathhouse

Maybe you and your partner are looking to explore, or maybe you’re flying solo and looking to experiment. Bathhouses are great places to go during the summer because they’re more populated and you’re much more likely to find someone you vibe with.
3. Double date!

Find another coupl and do a group date. If you’re flying solo, grab a group of singles and be each other’s wingmen.
4. Go on a hike

Spend some time outdoors and in nature. Depending on where you live, there are various degrees and intensities in hikes, but take your date to the great outdoors and immerse yourself in natural beauty. Just make sure to pick a trail with lots of shade!
5. Hit up a gay/nude beach
The only good thing about disgustingly hot and muggy days is getting your ass to the beach and taking a cool dip in the water. If you can, try to get your butt to a gay beach (because obviously they’re a lot more fun). If there aren’t any specific queer beaches near you, see if you and your man can head to a nude beach (because why the hell not?!).
6. Visit a museum
Museums are air-conditioned (thank the heavens!). I’d do some research to see if you can find any exhibitions by queer artists. (The David Bowie Museum closes July 15th at the Brooklyn Museum, so if you live in NYC, make sure to catch it before it closes. It was incredible!)
7. Go to the movies
Again, air-conditioning. (Seeing a theme, here?) Also, there are more and more films coming out with queer actors and themes. (Here are just a few recent ones from 2017, although I doubt any of them are in theaters anymore.)
8. Go to a drag show
Before we’re hit with an onslaught of more Drag Race, go ahead and actually go out and see your local drag queens perform. Don’t forget to tip those ladies! It takes a lot of money to look that cheap.
9. Spa
Find a group on (or simply Google) to find out which spas are near you that have couple’s discounts. Then go ahead and take your man. (Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate that this stock photo exists?)
10. Go to a book signing
Show that you’re one of those ~cultured~ gays everyone is talking about. See if there’s a book signing nearby by an author either you or he would be interested in hearing speak.
11. See a musical or a Broadway show
There are SO many ways to get cheap tickets to Broadway shows. I use TodayTix, which usually saves me at least up to 50% on shows. (They even have popular shows like The Boys in the Band!)
12. Taste some wine
Wine tasting is one of those things we always talk about doing, but never actual do—but like, why not? See if the guy you’re dating likes wine (if he doesn’t, dump him) and then take him to a wine tasting. Just make sure it’s inside and in an air-conditioned place!
13. Play tons of video games
Invite him over for video games, but then actually play video games (don’t immediately have sex). Or do! (Frankly, I don’t care.) But video games are always fun. They help both of you relax and you slightly revert back to your carefree childhood self, which is perfect for a first (or second) date.
14. Shower sex
Screw it, just ask him to come over and have sex in the shower. No, shower sex really is never that good, but it sure beats the goddamn heat.
