Recently, Redditor u/Party-Ad-7765 asked those in the Reddit community to share the childhood snack that seemingly disappeared from shelves but lives on in their heads rent-free, and my brain has unlocked memories I forgot I had. Here are some snacks that, depending on your age, will have you feeling super nostalgic or kinda confused:
1. “Berry Berry Kix cereal. The modern version tastes like the watered-down ghost of its former self, and I haven’t even seen it around in, like, a decade.”
2. “The old-style deep-fried McDonald’s apple pies. They were amazing; the baked ones just aren’t as good.”
3. “Yogos.”
4. “Philadelphia Cream Cheese Cheesecake Bars.”
5. “Dunkaroos. The ones they brought back aren’t at all the same.”
6. “Those sour Altoids.”
7. “Those Minute Maid slushie juice bars. They were in a weirdly-shaped triangle, and you’d have to rip off one end to open them.”
8. “Planters Cheez Balls. I know Utz exists and tastes exactly the same, but there’s something about that paperboard can and logo that makes it so nostalgic.”
9. “Orbitz. I only had it a few times, but I occasionally crave it.”
10. “Shock Tarts. They were always my favorite. I know they changed names a few times, but I can’t even find the new versions.”
11. “Every once in a while, I remember how great PAWS were. They crunched so much better than Puffs or Cheetos.”
12. “Flinstone Push-Ups.”
13. “Jell-O Pudding Pops.”
14. “The original Ring Dings — the big ones that were sold in the aluminum foil-type wrapping like how Klondike Bars are. The new little ones are by a different company, and it might be nostalgia talking, but they’re seriously not the same.”
15. “Kudos granola bars.”
16. “Keebler Pizzaria chips.”
17. Space Food Sticks.”
18. “Banana Twins. I tried making them myself, but you just can’t capture that ultra-processed chemical goodness in a home kitchen.”
19. Lastly: “Those 3D Doritos. They remade them recently, but they’re not the same at all.”
Do they still sell milk in little plastic bags for lunch at school? Good times. What are some snacks from your childhood that seemingly disappeared from existence? Let us know in the comments, or you can anonymously relive your childhood using this form!
